Cockroaches

Cockroaches are resilient, nocturnal insects known for their ability to survive in harsh conditions. They thrive in warm, humid environments and are commonly found in kitchens, bathrooms, drains, and basements. These pests are fast breeders, making infestations difficult to control.

Common Cockroach Species:

  • German Cockroach (Blattella germanica) – Small, light brown, and highly adaptable, often found in kitchens and restaurants.
  • American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana) – Large, reddish-brown roach that prefers warm, damp areas like basements and drains.
  • Oriental Cockroach (Blatta orientalis) – Dark brown or black, often found in cool, damp areas like sewers and crawl spaces.

Signs of Infestation:

  • Droppings resembling black pepper or coffee grounds.
  • Egg cases (oothecae) in hidden areas like cracks and behind furniture.
  • A strong, musty odor in infested spaces.
  • Sightings of live cockroaches, especially at night.

Cockroaches are known to carry bacteria, allergens, and pathogens, contaminating food and surfaces. Their presence can trigger asthma and allergies, especially in sensitive individuals.
