Ants are highly organized, social insects that live in colonies and are commonly found in homes, gardens, and commercial spaces. They are attracted to food, moisture, and shelter, often entering buildings in search of sugars, proteins, and grease-based foods.

• Common Ant Species:
  Black Garden Ant (Lasius niger) – Frequently seen indoors, forming long trails to food sources.
• Pharaoh Ant (Monomorium pharaonis) – Small yellowish ants that infest kitchens and are difficult to control.
• Carpenter Ant (Camponotus spp.) – Larger ants that burrow into wood, potentially causing structural damage.

Ant colonies are led by a queen, with worker ants constantly foraging and expanding the nest. They communicate using pheromones, leaving scent trails to direct others to food. Ant infestations can become persistent, especially if their nest is not located.
